Tag countingHello all,
please inform me on the the way Aggregate counts the used tags, see examples bellow: In the case of a modbus device, we can request a reply of a Holding register, type = 2-byte Int. Unsigned (offset=100), size = 5. Is this count as 1 tag or 5 tags? Or, as a Holding register, type = 8-byte Int. Signed (offset=100), size=1 Is this count as 1 tag or 4 tags? Or, as a Holding register, type = char (offset=100) which according to your manual is 64-characters length How many tags is counted for this element? Nikolas
Re: Tag countingAlso, is there any information on the used or stil available tags
on the installed / licensed software? Where I can find it? Is it in an form of an element that can be displayed at runtime ? Please inform. Nikolas

Where I can find it? Please inspect context menu of your server - View Server Information - License Information (Working for 5.4 version). Is it in an form of an element that can be displayed at runtime ? Yes you can get information from license variable of server's context. BR/Anton Logoyskiy Tibbo Systems
Re: Tag countingHello all.
I have SCADA Standard license, 200 tags, 5.41.13. I noticed that as soon as I add a device - the server immediately add 38 variables (server information >license information >plugin groups>variable count...). Modbus Registers - As in the previous answer. 1.Wht are they used for ? 2. Are those 38 .. detracting from my license amount? 3. Is it worthwhile and possible to delete them? thanks...
Re: Tag countingHi!
Is there any preinstalled regiters in your modbus device? Or this device is clear and doesn't have any settings? In the second case please write name of this device we will try to reproduce this issue. If we confirm it, we will fix this issue in the next SW version. Best regards, Sergey.
Re: Tag countingHi..
Sorry for being delayed.. Now, I added 4 new devices ... so my problem become urgent!! As detailed befor: I have SCADA Standard license, 200 tags, 5.41.13. In evry "Add Device" - the server immediately add 38 variables in license variable count. Regarding your question: The physical device (Unitronics Vision350 plc) is new and clear. "Add Device" action is manualy set (not importing properties from backup file) (Regarding to device regirster count - exactly as Anton Logoyskiy reply) The situation is: 6 modbus devices with 2 register line in each one are "Tag count" as 6*38 + 6*2 = 240 variable insted of 12 variable. My maine concern is being block by license limit... Thank in advanced for fast solution..
Re: Tag countingHello!
Please open Device settings and enter Generic Properties Tab. There you will see field Active Variables, fill it with "Only Selected" value. After that open MetaData tab and select necessary variables. You will see decreasing of tags count.
Re: Tag countingThank for your reply...
It dosen't work. All: metadata Reading mode and Active Entities - possible combination had no effect on variables count. Only uncheck "Active" checkbox in variable line in MetaData tab decreased 1 variables count from license count. (after each device settings change I refreshed main server root tree) Please … maybe another solution.. Thanks…
Re: Tag counting
So when you select "Selected Entities" and then in "MetaData" tab select necessary assets the number of variables decreased, right?
Re: Tag countingThanks for the fast replay…
I have only Modbus devices…the assets tab in Metadata is not available …
